Staying at the YMCA of the Rockies makes family vacations a cinch– on-site facilities have everything needed to keep your family entertained for days on end. Enjoy breathtaking views of Rocky Mountain National Park right from your room, where elk have been known to wander right up to your window. Rooms in the main lodges start at $79, or opt to stay in a private cabin on the property, starting at $99. Cabins range from 2 to 5 bedrooms, and retreat cabins that can sleep up to 72 guests in 16 bedrooms.
Horseback riding at the YMCA is a must. Follow trails through the park for anywhere from an hour to a full day to destinations like Dorsey Lake and Emerald Mountain. For families, the hour and a half long Marshmallow Roast Hayride is a favorite. The rides are scheduled daily throughout the summer and cost $20 per person (children under 3 are free). Some of the 25 plus activities offered by the YMCA of the Rockies are best enjoyed in winter months. Rent skates for $5 a pair and take the family to ice skate on Dorsey Pond for a wintertime outdoor adventure, or try a free guided snowshoe tour through Rocky Mountain National Park.
