Get ready for some high alpine sightseeing…
Trail Ridge Road, which winds through the high country of Rocky Mountain National Park, will reopen completely on Friday, May 28, officials say. This will allow drivers and road bikers to travel from the park’s east side to the west side (or vice versa) along a paved expanse.
Road crews have already begun plowing the massive amounts of snow that accumulate on the highway throughout the winter months. The drive from Estes Park to Rainbow Curve, however, is scheduled to open soon.

If you have plans to be in Estes Park before the winding road opens fully, don’t worry. The views from Rainbow Curve are magnificent, but park entrance fees will still apply. Here’s a snapshot to help you decide if the vista is worth $20.00 per car.

Once the highest paved road in the United States (now the tarred trek up to Mount Evans claims the number one spot), Trail Ridge Road climbs up to 12,183 feet at its loftiest point. Stunning views of the surrounding peaks and scary drop-offs into the valleys below make this drive a worthwhile experience when you visit RMNP.
