A Rocky Mountain National Park vacation encompasses many wonderful regions. Surrounded by awesome destinations in their own right, including Denver, Boulder, Ft. Colorado Springs is located less than three hours from Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of Pikes Peak, you will find an endless mountain and river activities where you can enjoy our sunny, mild climate and spectacular scenery. Bike down Pikes Peak or take the cog railway to its summit. Raft through the Royal Gorge or peer over the Royal Gorge Bridge suspended 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River. Colorado
If you think Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful then wait until you see the rest of Colorado. Some of the most beautiful mountain towns in America can be found across the state including Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver, Telluride, Aspen and Vail. On the western side of the state make sure to ride the trails of Fruita and drink beer from Durango. The San Juan Mountain Range is accessed throughout the south western edge of the state is consistently regarded as one of the most spectacular places in Colorado.

Wyoming
Who wouldn’t want to see wild buffalo roaming the plains and Old Faithful blast into the clear blue sky? While visiting Rocky Mountain National Park make sure to consider a trip up north to Wyoming and cowboy country. Rich with Native American history, museums, art galleries, and rodeos, the state truly stands out. Some of the best of Wyoming can be enjoyed in the state's capital city of Cheyenne, just 1-1/2 hours north of Rocky Mountain Park, and home to Cheyenne Frontier Days, summer rodeos, the Old West Museum, gunslinger shows, botanic gardens, the Wyoming State Museum, Capitol and Governor’s Mansion. Other popular towns include Laramie, Cody, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Lander, Riverton, Dubois, Jackson Hole, Casper, Douglas and Sheridan.

Utah
A trip to Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park should always include a side trip to the state of Utah. Regarded to have some of the best snow on earth, make sure to check out Ogden and the Wasatch Range. Other key destinations include Moab, St. George, and Salt Lake City.

Nebraska
Considered by many to be the gateway to the west, Nebraska is well worth a visit when planning your vacation to Rocky Mountain National Park. On the way through make sure to stop at Omaha and Lincoln, and if the time of year is right make sure to attend the annual AppleJack Festival in Nebraska City. (You won’t be disappointed…we promise)

Kansas
While most of the activity in Kansas is on the eastern side of the state there is one small town on I-70 that you must visit if passing through. Cody is effectively known as the oasis of the plains and even has a few palm trees. Further west Kansas City, Lawrence, and Manhattan all are must visits.

New Mexico
In New Mexico, directly south of Colorado, you can explore expansive canyons while rafting the Rio Grande, or sample fine southwestern cuisine in Santa Fe. If visiting Albuquerque, the largest city in New Mexico, make sure to check out Georgia O’Keeffe’s museum where a large quantity of her work is on display.

Arizona
Grand Canyon National Park and the small quaint red rock town of Sedona; need we say more? Arizona is truly a western gem and a must-visit state when heading to Rocky Mountain National Park. The best thing about visiting? Experiencing a rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. Amazing.
