Staying outside the Park’s eastern entrances is a cinch. Estes Park, known to many as the gateway to the Rockies, has several private campgrounds, timeshare resorts, log cabins, and historic hotels. The most famous is the Stanley Hotel standing on a small hill above town. For cabins look for local vacation rentals. It’s not uncommon to score a sweet deal during off-season months, but during the summer they book early so plan ahead. If you want to camp and can’t find a place inside the Park, head down to Allenspark and grab a site in Roosevelt National Forest. One of our favorites is Peaceful Valley a few miles south along CO-72. Boulder, Fort Collins and Denver Colorado all provide an abundance of lodging options for visitors. Or, not too far to the north is Cheyenne (link to http://www.cheyenne.org), Wyoming's capital city and home to the world-famous Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo and other Western events, where there are lots of great lodging opportunities as well.
Rocky Mountain Park Inn
Surrounded by sweeping mountain vistas of the Rockies and roaming herds of Elk, Rocky Mountain Park Inn is situated to welcome visitors with comfortable accommodations and crisp mountain air. Just 1-1/2 hours northwest of Denver, you’ll welcome solitude with LongZ’s regional cuisines or create a happy-hour gathering, complete with cocktails and tasty appetizers.
Appreciate a pet friendly place with creature comforts of an indoor atrium pool and whirlpool and WiFi access high in the Rockies.
