Great towns to consider spending your night(s) include Granby, Steamboat Springs, Frisco, Breckenridge, Vail and fantastic destinations in their own right and are situated not too far from the West Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Denver, Denver's capital city, offers an enormous amount of various accommodations from which to choose as well and is a common travel corridor for visitors to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are also good camping opportunities outside the Park’s boundary in one of the many campsites in Grand Lake and Granby. Campsites dot Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake, while further south they also line the shores of Lake Granby. The town of Grand Lake is also a popular destination for vacation rentals including houses and rustic backwoods cabins. Like Estes Park it is not uncommon for them to be booked during summer and fall months so make sure to plan ahead.
