Plan Your Trip

Congratulations, you’ve decided to take a vacation to Rocky National Park! You won’t regret it – now let’s get planning so once you step foot in the park you can be awed by the mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and wildlife, and not distracted by the logistics of the trip itself.

4 Steps to Planning a Rocky Mountain Park Vacation

Step 1: Sign up for your Free Trip Planning Kit. You’ll receive a Rocky Mountain vacation guide, brochures, coupons, and emails that will help you plan your trip.

Step 2: Decide how you’ll travel to the park. Most people do a road trip vacation either starting from home or a large airport. Once you get to the park, you’ll need a vehicle, bike, or tour transportation to get around, or during the summer season you can ride the park shuttles.

Step 3: Reserve your hotel or campsite. Depending on what time of year you are visiting Rocky Mountain Park, you’ll want to reserve lodging from one month to one year in advance.

Step 4: Before you go, check our pages about Rocky Mountain weather and gear so you can pack for the elements. Some trails have snow well into June. Some are sunny and dry year-round. You will need a coat and a good pair of shoes no matter what season you are visiting in.

We know you’ll have a wonderful time!
