Airports close to Rocky Mountain National Park

The closest international airports are Denver International Airport, located 30 minutes east of downtown Denver and 2-3 hours from Estes Park via US 36, and Cheyenne Regional Airport just across the Wyoming border, about 2 hours from Estes Park to the north via US 34 and I-25. Cheyenne offers fewer flight options, but is a good choice if you’re combining a RMNP visit with Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Start your Rocky Mountain National Park vacation by flying into Denver International Airport (DIA). The airport is roughly an hour and a half drive from Rocky Mountain National Park, and there are multiple options for transportation from DIA to the park.

Rental Cars

Rental cars at the airport are plentiful. Multiple options available on site including Avis, Budget, Hertz, and Thrifty. The road signs initially will reference Fort Collins, and then Boulder and Lyons before directing to Estes Park.
